Rain and Zucchini Flowers
It rained for 3 or 4 days straight last week- thank goodness the tanks are full again and the garden loved it. We had the first zucchini flowers and this week the first mini zucchinis. We've started picking the lettuce & rocket to encourage new growth.
The corn and watermelon are growing well, but the tomatoes in the mound are all differnt sizes- some thriving and others struggling. The lower leaves/growth of the tomatoes have been pruned to encourage growth further up and also so the fruit doesn't sit on the ground.
The pumpkin finally went in at the far side of the citrus garden- looks much happier even on 24 hours out of the pot.
We haven't progressed on the papaya mound yet- partly for lack of manure and partly for lack of labourers...the passionfruit behind this hasn't grown much in the past two weeks, but it could just be adjusting.
The mound is still pretty hot inside and often there are lots of mushrooms appearing all over it.
